Job Summary

We are seeking a Policy Analyst to join our Government Relations and Regulatory team. The Policy analyst will provide government relations or regulatory support to the team. The position is based in Washington, D.C., and requires in-person work in downtown D.C., including engagements with Congress and federal agencies. 

 

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

 

  1. Tax Policy: Understanding of federal tax policy including the Inflation Reduction Act (“IRA”) and the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (“TCJA”).
  2. Energy Sector: Expertise in policy, legislative drafting, and/or regulation on energy issues. 
  3. Native American, Agriculture and/or Rual Development Policy:  Experience working on Tribal, agriculture, and/or rural development legislation or executive branch initiatives. 
  4. Healthcare: Detailed knowledge and experience in healthcare policies, regulations, and legislative initiatives. 
  5. Emergency Services: Extensive experience and knowledge of emergency services and disaster response, including federal support mechanisms, funding programs, and direct collaboration with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (“FEMA”) and other relevant agencies.
  6. Federal Grants: Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, managing, implementing, applying for and/or selecting federal grants, funding and/or cooperative agreements.

 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  1. Legislative Monitoring and Research: Closely monitor legislative and regulatory developments at both federal and state levels that impact our clients.  Prepare summary and analysis
  2. Policy Analysis and Communication: Assist the team in drafting memoranda, policy briefs, letters, legislative summaries, talking points, and other materials to clients.
  3. Draft Detailed Documentation: Develop and disseminate legislative alerts, articles, and political updates for clients. 
  4. Congressional and Agency Engagement: Assist the team with advocacy efforts, including coordinating meetings with members of Congress, Executive Agencies and at political events in Washington, D.C.

 

Qualifications:

 

  1. Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required.
  2. Professional Experience: 2-5 years of experience in federal government roles, political campaigns, federal advocacy entities, or related fields.
  3. A strong understanding of the political and legislative processes, with the ability to analyze and interpret legislation and policy impacts. 
  4. Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. 
  5. Self-Starter Mentality: A proactive attitude with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and drive projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Team Collaboration: Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

 

(Expected salary: $90,000)
